grandma joy's photo shoot

my personal favorite

6/24/2009 "Adelaide is doing very well… Brenda said she was really alert today and was looking around when she got there this morning to feed her. It’s been over 24 hours now that she has been off of the seizure medicine so she is more lively and alert. The nurse said the medicine she was on would be like taking a Benadryl daily which would make you drowsy of course. She is eating 5x more than she was so we are all really excited about her progress and can’t wait to bring her home. I think she’ll probably be discharged by Monday but we are not sure yet.

Thank you for all your love and support and we will continue to keep you posted."

Here is our beautiful daughter

It was a very long labor but I managed to push for three hours and she finally came. Poor thing came out with the cord around her neck 4 times. The doctors handled the situation amazingly and got her to come to quickly. She was then taken right to the Nicu. She was stable and doing quiet well right away. That day she had a few episodes where she held her breath and they had to get her oxygen quick. Since those two episodes she has been stable. I am giving this in a nut shell. The doctors were concerned that the loss of oxygen could have caused some swelling on the brain. They decided to give her a cooling therapy to stop any further swelling and to heal the other.

The last two days she has done so well and we are so thrilled! She is a fighter and we know she is going to be great. We have seen many miracles in our life already...her being the biggest one of course. Someday I will fill you all in on them and many more details. But for now I just wanted you to all know that she is here and doing well and we ask for all of your prayers at this time. She is coming off the cooling treatment today and it's going to be a crucial time to see how her little body reacts. This is where we need to pray for the best outcome.

When you look at this sweet baby you can feel her strong spirit and know that she is a fighter! We are so proud of her and love her more than I ever thought was possible.

Thank you for all of your love, support, phone calls, flowers and especially prayers! They are being heard and answered. We will keep you all posted. Please forward this to anyone I may have missed.

We Love You  All!

Here we are!

First post.....I hope this is working!

We decided it's time to start a blog. We look at everyone elses and love it. This will be the best way to keep everyone up to date when our baby girl arrives.....so soon! Just a few weeks away!

I had my last day of work on Saturday so now we start the nesting and the count down. We will spend our Memorial day at Babies R us and then we will feel ready. Gotta get the carseat!
